Oregon historians will tell you that the state’s first child care center was Fruit & Flower, established in 1906. Parents today searching for innovative programs and loving environments agree that Fruit & Flower is their top choice for child care and development. We continue our original mission of providing high quality, full-time early childhood education to children from Portland’s working families, and offer scholarships up to 24 children whose parents would otherwise be unable to afford excellent care. Today, more than 125 children are exploring, playing and creating at Fruit & Flower, preparing themselves for success in kindergarten and beyond.
